Description

This Arizona original 1970 Custom Camper model is road trip ready. The original owner lived near Show Low Arizona and surprisingly ordered it with factory AC and a factory tachometer. The second owner brought the truck down to the Phoenix area in 2017. I became the third owner in 2023. This truck is a survivor with a lot of new parts. New radiator, water pump, new original print factory seat cover from LCM. New engine mounts, new transmission mount, new U-joints including a new carrier bearing. The driveline was balanced as well. New windshield, new battery, new master cylinder, new points + condenser. The Carburetor and distributor were both professionally restored by Carburetors Unlimited out in Peoria. Gas tank was flushed out and a new sending unit was installed. New fuel lines, fuel filter and fuel pump were part of the refurbishment. The engine was obviously professionally overhauled prior to my ownership as evidenced by the brass freeze plugs. The transmission was also overhauled previously as there is a tag attached stating Phoenix Transmission Exchange. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts firm and crisp. Being the Custom Camper special mean it came with two additional fuel tanks. Those tanks were removed by me with all of the required hardware and tanks still available. The selector switch is located below the seat on the driver's side. The bed is considered the regular bed measuring in at 8 feet. The 2500 badging designates this truck as a three quarter ton model. This truck is as close to all original as you can get given the 53 year old status.
